Garden Kit Studio respects your privacy. This notice explains what information we collect through this website, why we use it and the choices you have.

Who is responsible for your data

Garden Kit Studio is the controller of personal information collected through this website and our garden design service. For privacy questions, contact hello@gardenkitstudio.co.uk.

What we collect

• Your name, email address, telephone number and property address.
• Your quiz choices, garden requirements, budget, timings, estate and housebuilder details.
• Photographs, videos, plans, measurements and other files you choose to upload.
• Messages you send through the contact form or by email.
• Your marketing choice and basic technical or security information needed to operate the website.

How and why we use it

We use your information to save and send your Garden Brief, reply to enquiries, recommend a suitable service, prepare or deliver a garden design, maintain service and security records, and meet legal or accounting obligations.

Our legal bases are taking steps at your request before a contract and performing a contract; our legitimate interests in responding to enquiries, improving and securing the service, and keeping appropriate business records; compliance with legal obligations; and your consent for optional marketing emails. You may withdraw marketing consent at any time without affecting service messages about your quiz or project.

Who receives it

We use trusted service providers for website hosting, file storage and transactional email. If you buy a service, payment providers and carefully selected project suppliers may receive only the information needed for their role. We do not sell your personal information.

Some providers may process data outside the UK. Where this happens, we require an appropriate UK data-transfer safeguard or rely on another lawful transfer mechanism.

How long we keep it

• Incomplete quiz drafts are normally deleted after 90 days.
• Completed quiz results and enquiries are normally kept for up to 24 months so we can follow up and understand the service requested.
• Project, contract and financial records may be kept for up to six years, or longer where the law requires.
• Marketing records are kept until you unsubscribe or we no longer need them.

We may keep information for a different period where reasonably necessary for a legal claim, safeguarding, fraud prevention or another legal requirement.

Cookies, browser storage and advertising measurement

The quiz uses essential browser storage to preserve your answers and draft identifier while you complete it. The website also uses strictly necessary security and hosting technologies.

We keep anonymous aggregate counts of pages viewed and key service steps, such as quiz starts, quiz completions and package requests. These counts do not use cookies or similar identifiers, do not retain IP addresses or browser details, and are not used to create individual profiles or follow a person across pages.

If you allow optional cookies, we use the Meta Pixel and Meta Conversions API to understand whether visits, quiz completions, enquiries and package requests followed our Facebook or Instagram content and advertising. This may involve identifiers, technical information and contact details you provide, which are protected before being sent to Meta for matching. We do not activate this optional measurement when you choose “Essential only”. You can use the Cookie choices link at the bottom of any page to choose again.

Your rights

Depending on the circumstances, you may ask for access to your information, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, or object to certain uses. Where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw it. Contact us at the email above. We may need to verify your identity.

You can also complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint.

Security, children and changes

We use proportionate technical and organisational measures to protect personal information, but no internet service can guarantee absolute security. This service is intended for adults arranging work for a home or property and is not directed at children. We may update this notice when the service or law changes; the date above shows the latest version.
